8 takeaways from Bills GM Brandon Beane

Takeaways from Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane during 2020 training camp.

Rookies have brakes pumped

Each year there’s always optimism surrounding rookies. But Beane pumped those brakes quite a bit… Unless he’s trying to use a little gamesmanship for the Jets.

Beane essentially said he thinks rookie are going to start their careers slow in 2020 because of no preseason games.

“That’s real. We talk about getting reps, they are only getting so many reps and so, it’s a comfort level with rookies anyway. When you put this guy into the fire, how’s he going to do? Not having a preseason game to see how some how these guys play… how much are we going to trust them game one? How much game two? I think across the league you’re going to see the rookies start slow,” Beane said.

For the Bills, look to AJ Epenesa and Zack Moss here. Buffalo’s first two picks could have a look at early playing time, at minimal in a rotation, but it might take some time for them to get there. If anything, the Bills are pretty deep at pass rusher and running back so while no preseason isn’t a good problem to have, the Bills can certainly manage it this year.
