6 high-profile free agents the Bills could realistically land

In recent years the Bills have landed some great value free agents and we’ll certainly see Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane tap into those types of players once again.

The Bills and Melvin Gordon comes about due to some previously reported interest from the team. At the 2019 trade deadline which turned out to mostly be a dud, the Bills were said to be interested in his services, but as the story went, nothing happened. Fast forward to now, and Gordon’s going to test the market.

The 26-year-old former first-round pick had his name in trade speculation because he was looking for a new contract last season. He held out for four games but never got that new deal, so him hitting the market comes as no surprise. But once he returned, Gordon didn’t really make much impact for the Chargers, so who knows what his future deal could hold? His yards per carry average dropped from 5.1 to 3.9 last season in 12 games.

In regard to Gordon joining the Bills’ backfield, he’d be a solid candidate to pair with Devin Singletary, a smaller back. Gordon is a 6-foot-1, 215 pound guy. Frank Gore is also unlikely to be back at this point, too. Gordon would certainly be a burst of playmaking talent the Bills need on offense regardless of his position.

As free agency approaches though, things have been quiet on the Bills’ front. Teams such as the Broncos and Dolphins have been reported as teams more interested in adding him.
