49ers maintain NFC West lead, lose QB Jimmy Garoppolo for rest of season

The 49ers improved to 8-4 and maintained their lead in the NFC West but lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo for the rest of the season.

The NFC West didn’t change at all in Week 13, at least in terms of the standings. Three of the four teams played, two won and one lost. One team, the Arizona Cardinals, was idle on the bye week.

Here are the standings in the NFC West after 13 weeks:

  1. San Francisco 49ers, 8-4 (4-0 division)
  2. Seattle Seahawks, 7-5 (3-1 division)
  3. Arizona Cardinals, 4-8 (1-4 division)
  4. Los Angeles Rams, 3-9 (1-4 division)

Let’s take a look at what happened in Week 13 with each team.
