2022 Fortinet Championship odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2022 Fortinet Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The new PGA Tour season gets underway this week at the 2022 Fortinet Championship, which is being played at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif. Below, we look at the 2022 Fortinet Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions.

Although many of the top players in the world won’t be teeing it up this week, there are still some big names in the field – including last year’s champion, Max Homa. Also in the group of contenders in this event are  Hideki Matsuyama, Cameron Davis and Sahith Theegala.

The North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa is a par 72 and plays to 7,123 yards. This is the 7th time the course has hosted the Fortinet Championship, and it features some difficult green complexes – a necessity for a course this short. There are 4 fairly easy par-5s, but the par-3s are incredibly long and challenging.

Fortinet Championship – Expert pick(s)

Max Homa (+1300)

Homa hadn’t had much success at this event before winning it last year, but he looked very comfortable here in 2021. He’s been in great form recently, too, tying for 5th at the Tour Championship last month to cap off a fantastic season.

He’s a great ball-striker and while he isn’t the longest off the tee, his approach shots will have him in contention again this week.

Cameron Davis (+3000)

Davis is a bomber off the tee, so he should have plenty of wedges into these greens. The rough won’t punish him too badly when he does miss the fairway, either. He tied for 36th in 2020 and 17th in 2018, so he has played well in this event before.

I’ll take his length and iron play at a course like this.

Fortinet Championship picks – Contender

Trey Mullinax (+6000)

Mullinax is one of the longest drivers on tour, ranking 9th in that category. He can be wild off the tee, but that length will be an advantage this week. He comes into the event with 4 top-25 finishes in his last 5 starts, including a win at the Barbasol Championship and a T-12 in his last start at the BMW Championship.

He’s missed the cut here 3 straight times, but he did tie for 22nd in 2016.

Fortinet Championship picks – Long shots

Brendon Todd (+10000)

Todd has 3 top-30 finishes in this event, including a T-22 last year. His lack of length won’t be much of an issue this week, being a shorter course, and he’s incredibly accurate (7th in fairways hit), so he should get plenty of irons from the fairway into these greens.

Patrick Rodgers (+9000)

Rodgers has played this event every year since 2014 and has made the cut in each of the last 5 years with 2 top-25 finishes. He tied for 6th at 13-under par last year and though he didn’t finish the 2021-22 season on the best note with a missed cut at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, it was an overall decent year for him.
