2022 CBS Sports Mock Draft: Find out which WR the Raiders grab in Round 1

Which speed WR could the Raiders add in Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft?

Going into the 2022 offseason, the Raiders are going to have the same goal they always do; add more speed to both sides of the ball. And one position that desperately needs a speed infusion is at wide receiver.

Hunter Renfrow is having a career year with the Raiders, but his game isn’t built on speed. Bryan Edwards is a big, physical outside receiver. But he certainly isn’t a burner. They need someone who can stretch the field and keep the safeties back from the line of scrimmage.

In a recent mock draft by Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, he has the Raiders selecting Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson in Round 1 to help address their speed deficiency. Here is what he had to say about the potential first-round pairing:

“Wilson’s film is an absolute blast because of his athleticism and speed downfield. The Raiders could use another weapon for Derek Carr.”

Wilson opted out of the Rose Bowl and will enter the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a monster 2021 season, catching 70 passes for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 11 games. He doesn’t have elite size, but his speed and athleticism are what would make him attractive for the Raiders.

The 2022 wide receiver class is pretty deep and Wilson could be the first player selected at his position. Don’t be surprised if the Raiders show a ton of interest in the former Buckeye receiver in April.
