After successful free agency periods over the previous two years and back-to-back quality drafts, the New York Giants sport a much deeper roster than they did just two years ago.

Still, their top-end talent isn’t viewed as on par with many of the other teams in the league and that was represented in CBS Sports’ “Top 100 Player of 2021” list.

The Giants had just two players make the cut, including running back Saquon Barkley, who checked in at No. 87 overall.

He is coming off a torn ACL suffered in Week 2 last season, which limited him to 34 yards rushing for the year. He did have two impressive seasons to open his career, but can he get back to that same level he flashed as a rookie in 2018?

The only other Giant to make the cut was defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who was ranked No. 43 overall.

He was a force last season for the Giants defense, finally achieving the level of play expected of him when he came into the league with the Jets. Williams earned a new contract because of his impressive play.

Wide receiver Kenny Golladay and cornerback James Bradberry were listed under the “just missed” section, while linebacker Blake Martinez wasn’t even mentioned. There was also no love for safeties Jabrill Peppers and Logan Ryan, or Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram.
