12 things to know about new Bills WR Kenny Stills

Get to know Buffalo Bills WR Kenny Stills.

Birds stole his burrito

Good news for Stills, in January in Buffalo, you do not see many birds.

In March 2020, Stills shared a story on his Twitter account. While in California (where he went on to grow up and attend high school), a group of birds stole his burrito while he was on the beach. That is essentially word for word what happened and Stills shared the hilarious encounter:

Can confirm, birds do kind of suck. Sorry to any bird-loving Bills fans out there.

Ryan Tannehill wanted him back

The Bills probably weren’t alone in pursing Stills’ services for the playoffs. Typically we never know the true answer to such questions. We do have at least one team to look toward, though: The Titans.

Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill discussed Stills earlier this month when he was cut. The Titans have a dynamic rusher in Derrick Henry, but at times, their passing attack has left something to be desired.

Via Sports Illustrated, Tannehill, who was teammates with Stills while with the Dolphins, said he’d welcome a reunion:

“I have a ton of history with Kenny. I enjoyed playing with him. … Loved playing with Kenny. If the opportunity arose, I would love to do it again.”

Tough break for Ryan with Stills heading to Buffalo… who he could later faceoff against in the playoffs.

Where does Stills fit?

The big questions with Stills coming to the Bills is what role will he play? Most signs point toward Cole Beasley.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott recently pegged Beasley’s knee injury as a “week-to-week” issue. Considering the NFL postseason is only a few weeks along… yeah, Stills could replace him. Adding fuel to that fire is Stills having experience playing both on the outside on offense and in the slot where Beasley exclusively plays for the Bills.

Many would hope Beasley gets back in the lineup soon, but Stills provides the Bills with the same type of NFL experience Beasley has. Without Stills, the likely backup to Beasley would’ve been Isaiah McKenzie. While McKenzie did just have a massive game for Buffalo in their season finale vs. the Dolphins, one can’t debate that Stills is more of a proven commodity, having made 77 career starts in the NFL to McKenzie’s 16. That’s something quarterback Josh Allen won’t mind having around him.
