A look at the players who will be restricted free agents in 2023.

Free agency is so very far away (heck, I’m publishing this on the opening night of the 2022-23 season!).

But the offseason already began to take shape thanks to the date of Oct. 17.

That was the deadline for players drafted in 2019 to receive an extension. Those who didn’t would be restricted free agents next summer, which could be significant for a few reasons: If a team signs one of them to an offer sheet, the player’s original team can match it (we saw that happen with Deandre Ayton, who signed with the Indiana Pacers but the Phoenix Suns matched the offer).
