10 Things We Love About College Football – Week 12 Edition

Oklahoma seems to desperately need one of Oregon or Utah to lose before the Pac-12 Championship and then to win that conference title game if they’re going to have much of a chance at one of the four playoff spots.

No. 3 Georgia Still Controls Own Destiny Despite Scare at Auburn

In another strange one in SEC-land, Georgia had host Auburn’s number for the vast-majority of Saturday afternoon.

Georgia’s offense was fine, far from great all afternoon as they built a 21-0 lead, scoring once in each of the first three frames.

A missed field goal early and getting stopped on fourth down in their first five possessions were as close to scoring as the Tigers came.

At least until the fourth quarter when they burst onto the scene for a pair of scores, narrowing Georgia’s lead to 21-14.

The suddenly-hot Auburn offense was 73 yards from tying things up when they got the ball back with just under two minutes remaining Saturday, but three incomplete passes by Bo Nix and a sack of the freshman quarterback later ended things in what wound up being a thrilling finish.

What it means is that Georgia continues to control their own destiny despite their loss to South Carolina earlier this fall and that their biggest hurdle until the likely SEC Championship Game has been cleared.
